ANSWER:

Acts 1:4-12

"And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey."

Simply put, it is the Mount called Olivet.

The last recorded appearance of the resurrected Jesus in the Bible is that when St Paul saw the risen Christ on the road to Damascus ".. and last of all happeared to me..." he writes. The Damascus Road appearance took place long after the resurrection - whilst Paul, as Saul, was still persecuting the Christians. His conversion could be as late as 50AD, 17 years after the crucifixion and resurrection. Others have claimed to have visions of Jesus throughout the ages. However, the Mormon view (see below) must be taken with suspicion as no orthodox Christian Church regards the Mormons as more than a sect - and a heretical sect at that, and therefore much of what they say - epecially that material found in their so-called scripture of the Book of Mormon, should be regareded with great suspicion. Jesus Christ appears to individual people on a regular basis in the Mormon Temples. However, the last appearance that is widely known about is when He appeared to Joseph Smith in the Woods, now known as the "Sacred Grove", near Joseph Smith Jr.'s home in Palmayra, New York. In this appearance, He gave Joseph Smith Jr. the keys and powers he needed to restore Christ's church on the earth again after the apostacy.

In Bethany, rising up to heaven.

Luke 24:50 (KJV) And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

Luke 24:51 (KJV) And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

Luke 24:52 (KJV) And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

Luke 24:53 (KJV) And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
