Let us describe 'fascism' as a political/social/economic form that exults the nation-state.
Fascism is a radical form of government with a dictator who exercises complete power and control over his nation, including the economy, industry, and commerce. This dictator also suppresses any opposition and squashes anyone who openly criticize the dictator. Italian Benito Mussolini wrote the document The Doctrine of Fascism in 1932 suggesting that fascism can be broken down into four sections: nationalism, which includes economic nationalism, corporatism, which involves economic planning, totalitarianism which includes dictatorships and social interventionism, and finally militarism.
The Doctrine of Fascism suggests "The State is all-embracing. There are no human or spiritual values other than the state's welfare. Fascism is totalitarian, and the Fascist State---a synthesis and a unit inclusive of all values---interprets and develops the whole life of a people." (Anissimov, 2010)
In other words the state is far more important than the individual. In the case of Nazi Germany, racism was also involved with Hitler attempting to build a master race and the extermination of the Jews.
