Samuel Morse was involved in the invention of the single wire telegraph system. This system was based on the European telegraph.
ductape
A single wire telegraph used (earth) ground to complete the circuit. A single wire is run from the key to the receiver, and the other half of the circuit is completed by driving a conducting rod into the ground at each end. Runs of over 2 miles have been tested using this technique.
It depends if you mean the telegraph or wiring. The telegraph was invented by Samuel Finley Breese Morse around 1832. If you mean just wire, nobody really knows who invented it. Wire is probably over 4000 years old.
American Samuel F. B. Morse introduced the first commercially successful telegraph in 1844
The single wire telegraph system was demonstrated in 1837.
Samuel Morse was the co-founder of the Morse code and the inventor of the single-wire telegraph system.
