What is hisory of volleyball?

In 2010 the sport volleyball is 115 years old!
Volleyball originated in the united states. In 1895 William G.
Morgan decided to blend elements of basketball, baseball, handball,
and tennis. At that time (1895) volleyball was known as mintonette.
Morgan borrowed the net from tennis, and raised it 6 ft. and 6 in.
from the floor. During a demonstration, somebody noted to Morgan
that the men seemed to be volleying the ball back and forth over
the net. So he decided to call it volleyball. In 19000 a special
ball was used for this sport. In 1964 volleyball was introduced to
the Olympics in Tokyo.
Hope this helps!

Where was volleyball areganated?

On February 9, 1895, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, William Morgan
created Mintonette as a game to be played by adults. He wanted to
find an alternative to James Naismith's Basketball, as it was too
rough for some adults. There could be as many players on each side
as wanted. This is where Volleyball originated.
