Hundreds of bombs were dropped on Bristol during the war. Bombs were not measured according to the amount dropped but the tonnage that was dropped. Thousands of tons were dropped on Bristol and other areas.

Two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan during World War II.

Counting the number of bombs dropped wasn't practical or important. Bear in mind that often bombs fell in clusters and weren't dropped at neat intervals. If an area was hit by a cluster of bombs it usually wasn't possible to do more than estimate the overall tonnage, if that.

It's gonna sound like a lot but over 700 000 bombs were dropped in britainin ww2?

An atomic bomb has been used twice against another country, and that was when the U.S. dropped two bombs on Japan during World War II.

thousandsBombing campaigns are not measured in terms of "how many bombs were dropped" but rather how many tons of bombs were used. The Luftwaffe dropped about 45,000 tons of bombs during the Blitz. Some of this tonnage was used on other locations but London received the bulk of the bombs up to May 1941.

There is no record of each individual bomb dropped by the Axis powers or the Allied powers. The military keeps records of how many tons of bombs they dropped. Both sides dropped millions of pounds during World War 2.

None. The first atomic bomb was dropped decades after World War 1 finished. Atomic bombs weren't used in war until World War II.

Incendiaries, high explosives, 2 atomic bombs, tallboy, earthquake, bouncing... etc.

I dislike telling you this. The bombs that were dropped were measured in "pounds or kilos dropped" not by each individual bomb. They dropped many millions of pounds of bombs worldwide and in Europe during World War 2. (I would suspect there was over 5 million pounds or more dropped but I could not find you an exact figure. My suggestion is to checkout each battle and find out how many pounds of bombs were dropped during each one and add them all up.) I found one web site figure for you but it is not all the bombs in the war, see related link below.

they weren't named after anyplace they were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan

The names given to the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan during World War II are "Little Boy" and "Fat Man."
