Once the 75-80% made it to port after chained in a closed hold for 3 weeks, they were sold in a slave market. They were sold to other slave markets in other towns and cities by traders.
You have to understand that they were considered property like horses, cattle and farm supplies and were traded between one farmer and another or given as gifts.
