In present day France. ethnically some traces of Germanic. Burgundy was never a nation state , but was something of a schismatic roving state, akin to those which were manned by the Cossacks in the Ukraine. as the people were partly nomadic- and wars forced all sorts of re-settlements- they did not have any fixed territorial bounds, sounds like the Western Frontier, Pardner? The Burgundians captured Joan of Arc for a time. this is interesting as they also had Female Knights- and Burgundy colored skirts under their armor, neat touch.
