Usually, there is a "door" that opens near the top where the paper comes out or in the back of the printer. Often there is a tab to help you pull it open. You pull the cartridge straight out - do not tip it or you will find carbon everywhere. I usually set it down just the way I took it out so I can put in the new one easily. The number of the cartridge should be visible, but you can also Google your printer to find the one that you need to purchase. If you shift the cartridge back and forth gently and put it back in, you might be able to get a few more pages out of it.

∙ 12y agoGenerally, for ink and printer needs, I will go to Staples. They have a good selection and they have a program where you can return used ink cartrages and receive a credit at the store. Best Buy, Walmart, and Target would also be good places to look if you are trying to find a certain printer for the best price.
