The name of the song is "I'd Rather Have Jesus". A wonderful old hymn that you would find in most church hymnals (songbooks).
I can't be absolutely certain as to what was the first Depeche Mode song was. However, when the band first began they produced a demo tape which contained three songs which were; Ice Machine, Radio News (an instrumental) and Photographic. I would put my money on Radio News as being the first Depeche Mode song. Their first hit record though was 'New Life'. A point of note; the lyrics were written by Paul Spector who was fourteen at the time and did not want to be credited with it and the cover designed by Vince Clark's brother Rodney Martin. I hope this was of some help to you.
This would really depend on your personal opinion and life. However, the most touching lyrics to me are either in I'm So Sick (EP Version) or Break Your Knees or I'm Sorry...I think most of their lyrics are touching.

I am not sure that he would. That sounds more like a personal opinion of some people, rather than an established fact!

The answer would depend on who you ask. A Christian would tell you the answer of course is Jesus of Nazareth and the Apostles. Jesus, God in the Flesh and a few regular people basically turned the world upside down and were partially the cause of fall of the Roman Empire.
