Your mainfuse is at the starter relay follow the red battery wire and it goes to that relay look under the plastic cover
I would look first under your seat.
The battery on the car you're jumping is too weak. Let the donor car charge the battery for about 10 minutes before you attempt to start it. If that does not work the battery has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.d
Check your battery to make sure it isn't dead. If the battery is dead and won't hold a charge, replace and you should be good. If the battery is good I would take it to a mechanic. Check the main fuses under the hood, one may have popped if there was an accidental short while jumping the car.
Nothing will happen but why would you want to do this.
Most newer cars are sensative to jump starting. When you were jumping the car was the cables connected correctly? Check some fuses you may have blown a fuse somewhere.
I would most definitely say replace battery, at least have battery checked at almost any parts store. DC current on flows one way.
don't know American cars but with most modern cars i would use a back up battery as it can save a lot of hassel jumping to another car will do
AnswerIf the battery's dead it could be the alternator or a bad battery. If not, the starter. Try jumping it. If it starts the starter's OK. Then investigate the alternator and battery.Does it turn over but not start..?? There is a difference. Doesn't turn over would most likely be the battery, which is typically followed by a clicking noise. That would be the starter solenoid trying to engage but the battery doesn't have enough power to do so.If jumping it starts it right up, let it run for 10 or 15 minutes then (while running) check the voltage at the battery terminals. If it's above 14 volts, the alternator is doing it's job and the battery is dead. If the voltage is less than 14, then the alternator needs to be replaced.
I had the same problem and i fixed it by checking the fuse ...and it was blow. toke me 3 hours to figure that out lol
Resistance buildup in the battery cables. Mine did just that (dash lights flickering, dial gauges jumping up and down, etc.) and once I replaced both battery cables, the problem disappeared. This happened 4-5 months ago.
IF... you're sure the battery's good, (have you tried jumping it? If you can jump it it's almost surely the battery) check/clean the cables and ends. The ticking sound you hear is usually associated with either a dead battery or a bad battery cables.
YOUR battery might be marginal and starting to go bad, and by jumping somebody else's car, you are probably draining your battery. Put in interstate in there and you would have no problems!!
