You just spend it. Unless you have a coin in a mint-set with an "S" mintmark that is either proof or uncirculated, your coin is worth $1.
You can sell it to a coin dealer or you can sell it to a collector. You will probably get a better price from a collector.Just be sure that you have the coin certified for authenticity. The market has been flooded with fake "dollars", especially older dates.
Most likely the easiest way would be to sell it online. It doesn't seem to be that expensive of a coin (about $20-30 or so) so I would sell it via eBay, or possibly Craigslist, you could most likely get melt out of it if you took it to a coin dealer.
1885 isn't a rare date but it is a highly collectable coin in high grade. In low grade the coin would sell for a dollar or two, if circulated but in decent shape it could be worth 3-4 dollars. But if in brilliant uncirculated the coin can be worth a hundred or more dollars.
An authentic 1878 trade dollar will be made out of 90% pure silver. However, trade dollars are highly counterfeited, if you have an 1878 trade dollar and wish to sell it, take it to a reputable coin dealer who can make sure it is authentic because even low grade specimens can easily sell for $125 or more.
