Under the metal housing on top of the water pump (held on with two small bolts). There is a metal water line running from there across the front of the engine and a rubber hose clamped to the housing.

You can find the 1991 Dodge Shadow thermostat in the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing will be on the front of the engine.

The 1995 Toyota Tacoma thermostat housing torque specification is 40 pounds. The amount of torque on the thermostat housing bolts is not that important. You basically do not want to break the thermostat housing bolts.
Follow the top radiator hose at the end of that hose is the thermostat housing. The thermostat is located under the thermostat housing.
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator towards the engine. The upper radiator hose is connected to the thermostat housing on the engine side. The thermostat is under/inside the thermostat housing. Remove the upper radiator hose from the housing then remove the two bolts holding down the thermostat housing then remove the thermostat housing to expose the thermostat.
The thermostat for the cooling system can be found on the front of the engine. You can follow the bottom radiator hose to the thermostat housing. The thermostat will be within the thermostat housing.
