In terms of how they compare to other processors from the same manufacturer, the AMD Duron or AMD Sempron line could be compared to the Intel Celeron. Their architectures and features are different, however, so such a comparison is mostly non-technical.
No other processor is really equivalent, as each has its pros and cons. But AMD processors with similar performance would be the Athlon 64 and maybe the phenom.
