Yes, Delta is a real counter-terrorism unit within the US Army and JSOC. Most of the unit's details are classified, but twice a year, they perform Army-wide recruiting. They change official names every few years in order to keep foreign intelligence agencies guessing. Their last known names were Army Compartmented Element, or ACE, and Combat Applications Group, or CAG. Their most recent known operations were the rescue of Jessica Lynch and the death of al-Zarqawi.

Often granted flexability in uniform and grooming standards, this unit specializes in Ground Recon. DEVGRU, or "SEAL team SIX", "Blue" is the D.o.D's answer for a maritime Delta. DEVGRU operators are almost exclusively responsible for the battle for Takur Ghar, inside of Operation Anaconda.
