Cinderella could have worn a wig to the dance or decided to die her hair a different color the next day
Cinderella
Yes and no. Cinderella has some very admirable characteristics (she's optimistic, persevering, and strong-willed), but she's also very dependent. She could have stood up for herself or left her stepmother's house at any time, but instead she waits to be rescued by the love of a prince. I suppose there weren't a lot of options for a woman in the time period the story was set, but she still could have gotten a job in the village. However, the good characteristics do outweigh the bad, and Cinderella is a great role model for children. Just talk to them about independence.
No, Cinderella does not wear a mask in the original folktale. Instead, she receives a beautiful gown and glass slippers from her fairy godmother to attend the ball.

While Disney might sell Cinderella glass slippers, they would be at high prices since they are under copyright and all that. Instead, you could purchase glass slippers at a bridal accessory or gown store, they won't be exactly like Cinderella's but would be a lot cheaper.
