apple all fruit have the seeds inside, that is the definition of a fruit. that is why a tomato is in fact a fruit, and not a vegetable. Strawberries have seeds on the outside and are still classified as fruit. Vegetable is a more of a culinary and widely use term. Vegetables are parts of a plant that are edible that are not the fruit. The leaves, roots, stems of a plant if edible are vegetables. Lettuce is the leaf, beets are the roots, broccoli is the flower bud, celery is a stem of a vegetable.
