They then fought to remove that day again. The first country to declare Mothers Day an OFFICIAL NATIONAL holiday was Adolf Hitlers Germany in 1933 (celebrated first time in 1934) Followed by fathers day 1934 After World War Two both were abolished again, as heritage of the Nazis. But from 1949 on the idea of a day to honour mothers worldwide was picked up again and introduced by many countries (Fathers day followed from 1970 on)
