Which actor has appeared in the most movies?
The Tamil actress Manorama (Gopi Shantha) has over 1500 movie credits and 1000 stage roles, and holds the Guinness record for most film appearances.
Considering only commercially distributed films, it could be Prem Naseer of the Malayalam film industry who acted as a protagonist or hero in 720 movies.
Mel Blanc (voice of Bugs Bunny) had 1024 acting credits from 1937 through 1990. Most were as a voice actor, some were television roles.
Christopher Lee has acted in more than 300 films and by 2012 had possibly worked with more top actors and actresses than any other living actor.
Mickey Rooney, thanks to his career as a child actor, also has more than 300 movie roles spanning a 90-year film career (and eight marriages).
Other prominent performers are:
Charles Lane - prolific US character actor had 384 film credits, lived to 102 years old
Richard Whiteley - BBC host is thought to have had more appearances on British television (by time) than any other individual.
Sultan Rahi / (Urdu/Punjabi) سلطان راہی was a Pakistani Punjabi actor with an appearance in 813 films in his career. He is the only Pakistani actor to be in the Guinness Book of World Records. He worked in over 703 plus Punjabi films and 100 Urdu films. He won 160 Film Awards. Sadly he was Murdered in 1996.
Brahmanandam Kanneganti (born 1 February 1956), is an Indian actor and comedian. He has appeared in over 1000 films. Hailing from Sattenapalli in Andhra Pradesh, he mostly acts in Telugu films. I'm not entirely sure - but the actor with the most movies under their belt that I could find was Christopher Lee, in 274 titles according to IMDb. There could very well be an actor with more, but it's hard to look every actor up on IMDb.com and check how many movies they've been in... George Chandler has 444 film credits.
