Anything that is a species of fish (sharks, tuna, stingrays, etc.) can breathe underwater because they have gills. Also, amphibians such as frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, and caecilians are cold blooded. Amphibians are animals that can live on land as well as live underwater. They have different cells which allow them to do so.
Birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, most insects (some can dive down in the water and carry an air bubble in their legs to breathe).
Even mammals like whales and porpoises who live in the water cannot breathe underwater.
Animals with gills - fish, crustaceans squids etc can breathe underwater for their whole lives.
All animals that live under the sea (in the ocean), and sea turtles.

From what I know about chemical compunds, there is too much H (Hydrogen) in water for land animals to breathe as there is none in air, or close to it. Also, it doesn't include Argon or Nitrogen. For their counterpart, Water animals can not breathe air(Except for dolphins and lung fish) because they do not reach a sufficient amount of Hydrogen. That's my guess anyway.
no, they cant stupid
The reason you cant breathe under water is because people is made to breathe oxygen, water composes oxygen.
they have a mouth just like us, that is what helps them to breathe, but they cant breathe if they are out of water unless they are land animals, which most of them probably arent/
cause you don't have gills but we have lungs to breathe the oxygen in water
mammals cant breathe underwater only some of them like a beaver and the family...
they cant breathe because if we do we can drink the water and possibly choke and die.
Marine animals do not break down water molecules into oxygen, just like we don't. They breathe O2 gas that is in solution in the water.
First of all, common sense any person cant live under the water not even animals except for fishes and other water animals. normal person they cant even breathe because when they go down into the water. the water gets into their nose ears and mouth maybe they just can live hardly for 5-6 mins. or the luckiest person maybe for hours or for days finding there way. i m a diver!
Yes. goldfish breathe water so if a goldfish is out of water it cant breathe so it will suffocate
the majority of oxygen is found in water therefore you cannot breathe the oxygen in water
Because fish have gills, and breathe water- and I cant!
