Black footed ferrets, Przewalski's Horses, Spix Macaws, Guam rails, Scimitar Horned Oryx, and the Plains Bison
The most famous was China's giant panda, which avoided extinction in the California Zoo. The Association of Zoos and Aquariums has saved bongos and forest African antelopes. These animals were also successfully bred and released back into the wild.
Yes because keeping zoos is important for animals to avoid extinction. Zoos help preserve species. Sometimes, zoos keep animals and then release them into the wild when the animal is mature enough. Zoos help save animals' lives. If they are disabled, people can help them.
There are many reasons for this, these are only a few. * Many zoos give injured animals a refuge while they recover so they may be returned to the wild. * Some zoos have breeding programs that help keep some animals from extinction. * Some zoos offer a home to nuisance animals so they will not be put down. * Zoos offer a place for people to learn more about the effects they have on the world around them. * Many zoos have extensive research programs that allow scientist to be able to treat ailments and problems of animals in the wild as well. * Zoos keep animals away from their predators. * Zoos give human enjoyment and entertainment. * Zoos give people an opportunity to let people see real life animals * Zoos give animals the food which saves the animal from fighting another in order to receive its prey. (If its carnivorous!) * Zoos give animals shelter.
Some zoos have animals just for show and they breed them there. Other zoos just have endangered animals: animals that are injured and cannot survive in the wild, babies that have been abandoned or separated from their parents or endangered species. But some zoos have a mixture of both... :)
Alot
Zoos educate people about wild animals and their care. They also take in and/or rehabilitate animals that have been injured, or care for animals that would not survive in the wild.
they shoudl stay in zoo's because if poachers keep on going to kill all these animals in Africa than there will be no more left for the next generation of children and if there is none left then they cannot learn about them zoo's allow these animals to live on for the next generation
Animal activists feel that wild animals should live in the wild. However, other animal lovers support zoos because they combat extinction and promote conservation and education of the public. It could go either way.
Zoos cremate their dead animals.
A gorrilla Arabian Oryx. Became extinct in the wild in the early 70's. They were saved by a few Zoos which started a breeding program. They are still on the verge of extinction.
Zoos are good if they aren't hurting the animals and they are in good living conditions.
i think its because sometimes the animals can get the sickness from other animals in the zoos
