The first to approach a member of an opposing group is often someone perceived as having higher status or authority within their own group. This individual is usually responsible for initiating contact and representing their group during the interaction.
In language teaching, an approach refers to a set of principles and practices that guide how language learning should be facilitated. Different approaches, such as communicative approach or task-based approach, focus on specific goals and methods for teaching languages to learners. Approaches influence decisions about content, activities, and assessments in language classrooms.
Comparative linguistics is a branch of linguistics that compares different languages to identify similarities and differences in their structures, grammar, vocabulary, and historical development. It aims to reconstruct the history and relationships between languages and language families. This comparative approach helps linguists understand how languages evolve and are connected over time.
The institutional view is generally considered preferable because it aims to prevent poverty and social issues by providing comprehensive support systems, such as healthcare and education, to all members of society. In contrast, the residual view only provides benefits to those who fall into poverty or crisis, which can lead to gaps in coverage and perpetuate inequalities.

The prescriptive approach in linguistics used to be common until the 19th century. Linguists used to make rules for language and then considered the language which followed all of these rules properly the most perfect one. Prescriptive language is language which is described as it should be, not as it is really written and spoken. The opposite would be the descriptive approach, which observes language and recognizes the similarities instead of pre-fabricating rules. While the prescriptive approach classifies some languages as "of minor quality", all languages are equally "right" when analyzed descriptively.
That's the poetic and religious approach (particularly if you're an xian), but chances are that they weren't. It appears likely that different languages developed independently in different parts of the world, without a common ancestor, probably after the initial spread of homo erectus. But all Romance Languages have many Latin roots. (So does English although that is not a Romance language)
To effectively navigate the challenges and benefits of bilingual parenting, parents can create a consistent language plan, expose their children to both languages regularly, provide opportunities for practice and immersion in both languages, and seek support from bilingual resources and communities. This approach can help ensure that their children develop strong language skills in both languages.
