4 stroke has more performance, and there for is more money. And I'm going to guess that there both equally reliable, but a 4 stroke is your best bet because of the enhanced performance.
2 stroke, more power and torque = more speed 4 stroke, more reliable
Some snowmobiles are still 2-stroke. and 2-strokes are louder than 4-strokes. Another thing is power-to-weight ratio. An Engine can make more Power at full throttle if it's allowed to use a loud exhust. And Power-to-weight is fairly important for performance-oriented vehicles.
4 cycle! Automobiles are 4 stroke engines. chain saws snowmobiles and leaf blowers are examples of 2 stroke engines. If engine has an oil pan, or oil filter, it is a 4 stroke. if it does not have an oil pan, it is 2 stroke. Briggs and Stratton are 4 stroke motors.
2 stroke
2-stroke engines produce much more power than 4-stroke.
2 stroke motorbikes are more powerful and I'm not sure on the advantages of a 4 stroke motor bike but i have a 4 stroke and i think its more for beginners
4 stroke. a farm/trail bike, thay have hardly any maintenence and are reliable. dont think twice
depends on if its 4 stroke or 2 stroke.. usually a 2 stroke will last about 5000 - 10000 miles if taken care of properly but they can last as mush as 18000 is the highest ive seen .. but don't get me wrong they could possibly go much more.. 4 strokes are usually more reliable and will last about 8000 - 15000 mile easily if not abused..
The most efficient to date is a 2-stroke design. it is a turbo desiel 2-stroke. but normally a 4-stroke is usually the more efficient of the two engine types.
In a 2 stroke, every second stroke of the engine is a power stroke. In a 4 stroke, every 4th stroke of the engine is a power stroke. Knowing this, a 2 stroke has double the power as a 4, in the same cc
A 2-stroke dirtbike will be powered by a 2-stroke engine and a 4-stroke dirtbike will be powered by a 4-stroke engine. For the same power, the 2-stroke will be a lighter bike. For the same weight, the 4-stroke will be a weaker/slower bike. The 2-stroke is likely to use more fuel and make more noise. The 4-stroke will run cleaner and quieter.
4 stroke is better than 2 -more torque last longer that is why gm stoped making 2 stroke diesels
