Dogs can do many tricks. First you need to look at your dogs height and weight. If your dog is large he/ she can do many tricks such as:
sit
shake
down
rollover
kiss
hide
bed time
agility
beg
dance
swim ( not really a trick but a fun activity )
These are the most common tricks for large dogs but do not be mad at your dog if they can not accomplish these tricks. It took my dog 7 years to learn these. First we had to work through her fear for people ( she was abused ) small dogs can often jump through hoops which is a very fun thing to do they can learn to jump up on your back and to eat daintly. If you Google these you can learn how to d them easily with step by step directions. If you have a medium dog they cam most likely do all of these tricks. Good luck and have much patience. Your dog can learn these tricks and so much more.
I made my dog,Mikey shake his hips like shikara
1) Crawl: This is a fairly easy trick to teach. If your dog already knows how to get to a down position then that will help. Get your dog to go to a down position. Once he/she is there kneel down and show your dog the treat, but don't let him take it. Slowly move the treat away from him (toward you) and make him stay in a down position. Try getting him to do 1 crawl, praise him, and give him the treat. As he gets better, move far away and ask him to crawl to you.
2) Roll over: If your dog does not like being pushed on his/her side (like mine), then it would be better if you did not try this trick on him. Get your dog in a down position and slowly push him to his side saying "Roll Over". When you have gotten him on his side (and said "Roll Over"), then praise him and give him the treat. Slowly, still saying "Roll Over", push your dog onto his back and then his other side. Keep practicing until your dog is capable of doing this on their own. *Only do this with your dog on carpet or grass.
3) Bow: This trick may also be known as "Stretch", but I taught my dog by using "Bow". Most dogs will pick this up right away, but other dogs may try going into an automatic down position. If this happens do NOT praise them or give them a treat. Try again, but this time hold the treat right in front of their nose and lure their front half to the floor.
4) Kiss: Now some people find the "Kiss" trick incredibly disgusting, however you can teach your dog to kiss your cheek (some of you might even find THAT disgusting). How I started teaching my dog this was to touch a treat to your cheek, hide it, point to your cheek, and say "Kiss". If this doesn't work, then the next time your dog kisses you say "Kiss" and praise him.
5) Shake: To teach your dog to shake, start by putting them in a sit position. Hold out your hand and say "Shake". If your dog does not put his hand there automatically, then pick up his hand and shake it saying "Shake" once more. Do this until your dog puts his hand there without you making him.
There are many cool tricks you can teach your dog, even ones you have made up or invented yourself! Some common and basic ones are sit, roll over, beg, lie down, shake, spin and jump. If u want to try for some tricky ones; dancing, walking, leading, jumping through hoops, nodding, searching .... u name it! :)
You can teach your dog almost anything. Some of the basic tricks are sit, stay, come, down, up, no, etc. Some people teach their dogs to play dad, or flip the light switch. There are tons of possibilities.
The most basic commands to train a dog with are sit, stay and to come when called. If the dog is older, it will be more difficult to train than a puppy. Also, some breeds are easier to train than others. The best way to train a dog is with a food-based reward system. Use a "clicker" to indicate the dog has performed the command well, then feed him a treat.
You could teach your puppy tricks like sit, paw, lay etc. you can teach them all depending on your speed and work but don't try to overwhelm the pup.
anything you want them to but as the saying goes you cant teach an old dog new tricks .be firm and praise the dog when its done as you wanted also do tricks very often

Yes, and if then it learns it's name, you can teach it to "sit". When you're done that, you can teach your dog up to fourteen tricks. :)
In a science expierment my friend did it proved that you cant teach an old dog new tricks! EVEN MORE THAN U CAN TEACH YOUNGER ONES.
yes we can
Because you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Yes and the more you teach and reward with treats and love him/her the less mean he/she will be.
Yes,you need to be patient and teach the dog some tricks weeks by weeks.Oh, and remember if the dog can do what you teach it,you can give it a treat.
Yes it can be taught. You have to stick to some exercises
"Teach your dog not to bark," he screamed. To teach is to give the gift of knowledge. Not everyone has the ability to teach.
These animals cannot be taught "tricks" on command as a dog can.

Yes just teach it to sit. The quote "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." isn't fact based.
