State Bank of India has the most number of branches for a single bank in the world. SBI and its subsidiary banks have more than 17,000 branches in India plus many more across the globe. I don't think any other bank in the world has so many branches. There are other banks in india & the world with thousands of branches but none with 17,000+ that are in operation.
In India, it is State Bank of India. SBI is the largest bank in India. It has over 13000 branches across India. It also has a number of subsidiary banks like State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Hyderabad etc. If we include the branches of these subsidiaries, the number of branches is even more.
more than 820.000

I would assume, the answer for this is State Bank of India. SBI and its affiliate branches have the most number of branches in India and also, most probably the world. They have more than 17,000 branches across the country. Even if we assume they have only 10 people per branch working for them the total employee count would be 1.7 lakhs. Large branches, esp in cities have up to 50 staff. So, easily SBI could be the largest bank in terms of number of employees.
Its Bank of Baroda.
the number seems to be no more than 180 based on the branch list of BOC's website.

As of my last knowledge update, the State Bank of India (SBI) has the maximum number of branches in Tamil Nadu. SBI is one of the largest public sector banks in India and has an extensive network of branches across the country, including in Tamil Nadu. The exact number of branches may vary over time due to mergers, closures, or new openings, so it is advisable to check with the latest data from the Reserve Bank of India or the respective bank for the most current information.
