The Battle of Shiloh You may be thinking of Chickamauga but that battle actually occured in Georgia, even though it is close to Chatanooga, TN, where the Union army retreated.

Probably Lookout Mountain/Missionary Ridge. Certainly that campaign of late 1863 had the most men involved, if you include the sideshow at Knoxville. But both Shiloh and Murfreesboro had almost as many men engaged as were involved in the fighting around Chattanooga.
Murfreesboro was the fourth bloodiest battle of the war, in terms of the percentage of men lost, after Gettysburg, Antietam and, I believe, Chancellorsville.
