There are two different creation stories in Genesis: the first is found in Genesis 1:1 to 2:4a (the first sentence of verse 2:4); the second is in Genesis 2:4b to 2:20. Because it is troubling to some that there be two quite different creation stories in the Bible, many have attempted to describe the second creation story as merely a summary of the first, but the differences are too fundamental for them to have a common origin.

There are also fragments of a third, more primitive, creation story in Psalms and the Book of Job.

The creation is talked about throughout the books of The Bible... even the New Testament:

"'Yes,' said Jesus, 'how terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you crush people beneath impossible religious demands, and you never lift a finger to help ease the burden. How terrible it will be for you! For you build tombs for the very prophets your ancestors killed long ago. Murderers! You agree with your ancestors that what they did was right. You would have done the same yourselves... And you of this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God's prophets FROM THE CREATION OF THE WORLD...'" (Luke 11:46-50 NLT New Living Translation)

"For ALL CREATION IS WAITING EAGERLY for THAT FUTURE DAY when God will reveal who His Children really are. Against its will, everything on earth was subject to God's curse. ALL CREATION ANTICIPATES the Day when IT WILL JOIN GOD'S CHILDREN in Glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that ALL CREATION has been GROANING AS IN THE PAINS OF CHILDBIRTH right up to the present time..." (Rom.8:19-22 NLT)

"(Even the Scriptures say, 'For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.') No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who Loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His Love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell [the grave] can't keep God's Love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing IN ALL CREATION will ever be able to separate us from the Love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our LORD." (verses 36-39)

"Christ is the VISIBLE IMAGE of the INVISIBLE GOD. He existed before God MADE ANYTHING AT ALL and is Supreme over ALL CREATION. CHRIST IS THE ONE THROUGH WHOM GOD [the Father] CREATED EVERYTHING IN HEAVEN AND EARTH. He [Christ] MADE THE THINGS we can see and the things we can't see - kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything HAS BEEN CREATED through HIM and FOR HIM. HE EXISTED BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE BEGAN, and He holds ALL CREATION TOGETHER." (Coloss.1:15-17 NLT)

"...God [the Father] promised everything to the Son [Christ] as an inheritance, and through His Son HE MADE THE UNIVERSE and EVERYTHING IN IT." (Heb.1:2 NLT)

"Nothing IN ALL CREATION can hide from Him. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes. This is the God TO WHOM WE MUST EXPLAIN ALL THAT WE HAVE DONE." (Heb.4:13 NLT)

"In His Goodness He chose to make us HIS OWN CHILDREN by giving us His True Word. And we, OUT OF ALL CREATION, became His Choice Possession." (James 1:18 NLT)

"'Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea. This is the message from the One who is the AMEN - the Faithful and True Witness, the Ruler OF GOD'S CREATION..." (Rev.3:14 NLT).
