Both companies make fine weapons. It boils down to personal choice and your pocket book
You can buy a Remington brand of riffle since it is better than most of the other riffles.
Colt is a pretty popular brand, as are Remington and Winchester.
Each rifle will show a preference for certain loads. The only way to know is to shoot them.
Just guessing- since you did not give us a brand name- Remington 552? If so, Remington;s are dated by a letter barrel code- 2 or 3 very small letters, LEFT side of barrel, just ahead of reciever. Please repost with BRAND of rifle, and if Remington, the letters.
A little bit of research will solve this. Find out a few major companies that made a .22 rifle in 1983 ( Remington, Winchester should get you started) and just look up what models they produced during that year.
Any brand of firearms cleaning solvent will do the job.
There is really no ONE "best" brand of ammo- some rifles like some ammo, other rifles, well.... other ammo. 150 grain is a bit on the light end for a 30-06, but you might try a box of Federal, Winchester, and Remington to see what works best in your rifle.
Daisy air gun co. makes and sells the Winchester brand of air rifles. I suggest you ask them. "See the link Below"
brand new with all paper work and box in unfired condition is $1200 to $1400
Several companies, including Savage, Mossberg, Noble, Winchester and Remington. These were made for sale by Montgomery Wards store, using their own brand (Westernfield). Send me a message by by message board with the model number, we can give you some better information.
Winchester, Browning, Ruger, Savage- really, any 1st class gun maker- but those 4 are my personal favorites.
Depends on year of manufacture and condition. I paid $385 for my 1952 model which, amazingly, still looks brand new.
