Based on surveying friends and acquaintances in both Seattle and Washington DC, and adding personal & family experience into the equation, Washington DC comes out on top for several reasons:
* More jobs available in Wash DC because of Federal Government positions and private companies that assist various Government functions;
* the proximity of jobs in Northern Virginia in places like Alexandria, VA, across the Potomac River;
* the proximity of the large city of Baltimore and its employment opportunities;
* warmer, more comfortable climate in Wash. DC;
* wider of choices of public transportation, train, bus & airline;
* ability to travel 400 miles north to NYC;
* cleaner streets and less slum areas; and
* by far the more institutions of higher learning, too many "name" colleges & universities to mention.
