I would imagine all of them do.

You just have to tell it to print b/w or color. Just go into the print menu and you can make a "Preset" of what you are going to print. Save one for B/W only, Standard Color, Fine Color, Photo color, etc, then just chose which one you need when you actually print the page.

Do color printer cartridges shrink?

The plastic ink cartridge stays the same size, only the ink level inside shrinks with use.

What is the computer chip in all of the Epson cartridges and why is it neccesary?

The IC chip on Epson ink cartridges performs a variety of important functions. It identifies the cartridge model and ink color and communicates that information to the printer to confirm that the correct cartridge has been installed. It allows for the safe removal of ink cartridges, the chip records data such as installs and head cleans - it tells the printer what cartridge it is and estimated ink level. Ensures the wrong ink cartridge (i.e. for another printer) is not used, which could damage the printer.

How do you get a clogged printer nozzle or banding?

Banding is caused by printer nozzles being clogged, which is caused by the printer cartridge ink level being quite low and the cartridge nozzle being exposed to air, which causes the ink to dry and harden.

The Benefits of a Printer Ink Cartridge?

When a printer ink cartridge starts to run low, the software that is installed with the printer will often alert this on the screen. Oftentimes, this will be before the ink level starts to affect the quality of what is being printed, and this can be beneficial to anyone printing an important document.

What is a toner reset chip?

It's a micro-chip built into a toner cartridge. When the toner level drops below a pre-set minimum level - the chip signals the printer to inform the user that the toner is needing to be refilled. Once this action has been performed, the chip sends a 're-set message' to the printer, and it shows a full cartridge.

What is maximum color dpi?

The maximum color dpi (dots per inch) of a printer refers to the maximum resolution at which the printer can produce colored images or documents. This measurement indicates the level of detail and clarity in the color output and varies depending on the printer model. It is usually determined by the printer's technology and specifications.

What should I be looking for when my computer says to check print ink cartridge levels?

How to reset ink level on HP printer?

A new print cartridge should do that for you. Unfortunately, most printer manufacturers report a low ink level FAR sooner than they really should. Often there is still more than half of the ink left in the cartridge when they start reporting that you should get a new cartridge. They are in the business of selling print cartridges and they almost give away the printers. They try to get you to buy replacement cartridges long before you need them. If you can, just turn off the ink level reporting feature and have a spare set of ink cartridges waiting.

How to Change an Ink Cartridge in an Epson Printer?

In an Epson printer, changing an ink cartridge is not difficult, but it is not as simple as taking out one cartridge and replacing it with another. So, if you’re considering about replacing your cartridge, this post is for you because it will walk you through the entire process. Change your cartridge and start printing! There are a few things you must perform every time you want to replace your cartridge. Purchase your ink first. If you do not replace the old cartridge with the new one right away after taking it out, the ink heads may dry out, which will compromise the printer’s performance. So it’s best not to take the chance. The second thing you should do is see if the ink is coming out correctly. If the ink level is low, the ink light will flash orange, and when the cartridge is fully empty, the light will flash orange continuously. How to Replace an Ink Cartridge in an Epson Printer in Steps Step 1: First, raise the scanning portion of the printer so that the print head is visible. The printhead is the printer’s moveable component that holds the ink cartridges. Make sure you don’t touch the print head while doing this task, and wait a few minutes for the print head to stop moving before continuing. Step 2: Finally, click the stop button. The stop button is located on the far right-hand side of the control panel. An upside-down triangle in a circle denotes it. Step 3: Now, by pushing the button next to each cartridge, you can see how many are empty. If your printer is connected to your computer, you can also complete this step. You can use your PC to check the Epson status monitor, which will show you which cartridges are empty. Step 4: Take the new cartridge out of the package and give it a good shake for four to five times before removing it. Remove the package from the new cartridge and only take the yellow tab. Remove no other parts from the cartridge, and never touch the green chip, since this may cause the cartridge to malfunction. Step 5: Press the empty cartridge between your fingers in the printer to release the plastic tab on the back. Remove the cartridge and place it in a suitable recycling container. Step 6: Place the unpacked new cartridge in the space and press it down until it fits nicely. Rep until all of the empty cartridges have been replaced. Turn off the printer. Step 7: Select the “Stop” option. The printer will charge the ink for 2-5 minutes. The power light will then flash. During this period, do not turn off the printer. When the power light stops flashing fully, it means the installation is finished. With the new cartridge installed, your printer is now ready to print. If your printer isn’t printing, dial +1-(888)-994-2577 and ask for Printer Assistant to Change an Ink Cartridge in Recalibrating Printer.

When you get a toner low message what can you do to extend the life of the toner cartridge before you replace the cartiridge?

The life of a toner cartridge may be extended, in some cases, by taking it out and gently taping it to loosen the settled toner inside. However, many copiers include mechanisms to do this automatically, so doing it manually may not gain anything. When printing, you can choose draft quality in Properties--it won't print as dark and you won't use as much toner. If you have color cartridges, you can opt for black rather than color and save the colors. In addition, many toner cartridges are designed to operate for a specific number of copies and stop after that even though toner may remain in the cartridge. In that case, the cartridge life cannot be extended.

Can a lexmark 100a cartridge be refilled?

Yes. Any Lexmark cartridge with the A at the end of the cartridge number is a refillable cartridge. If it does not it is a "return program" cartridge that will "kill" the electronics once it reads empty causing the printer to reject the cartridge no matter the level of ink in it. recently Lexmark upgraded the software for the printers that take the 100 series cartridges. This was in effort to stop the after market counterfeit products that had counterfeit chips in them, or so they said......... was only part, in reality, it was to stop the consumers that had figured out that the 100A magenta cartridge chip was actually the same as the 100a Black cartridge chip. A black 100a cartridge was always more that the color ones. and it was the SAME EXACT CHIP. so they made the software to identify the place that cartridge was placed into, in other words that cartridge until is INSTALLED has no idea if it is black or color. Since all the A series cartridges can be REFILLED by you the consumer, you still have the ability to buy a new 100a color and change it out to a regular 100 OR 105XL cartridge, but it must be done BEFORE it is ever used in the printer. and yes the 105 Cartridges are the EXACT same cartridge in size shape and molding. so buy a 105XL take your smaller capacity 100A black cartridge chip out and place it in the 105XL , you have a NEW cartridge that cost you 5$ band new and now from now on you can get NEW cartridges for 5$ each and never have to refill again. Just keep changing the chips out every time you buy a new 105. to remove the chip, simply CAREFULLY peel back the label and CAREFULLY remove the chip transfuring it to the brand new 105 cartridge. NOTE ! the center of the chip has a hot melt plastic pole that goes thru the center of the chip, it can be removed with out breaking the chip board if you do it carefully! GENTLY using a flat smooth butter knife or something similar, sliding it under the Chip board and GENTLY pry it up. THROW AWAY the 105 chip so you don't get them confused. You still have the ability to use a color cartridge chip that is a 100A, in a Black cartridge, but it MUST be done before that color cartridge is installed in a printer, so remove the chip , don't throw away the color cartridge, you can still re chip it with a cartridge chip that has been in that colors cartridge that was already installed in your computer as long as it too was a 100A chip. You are in fact buying the chips for the price of the color cartridges about 10$ and being able to get a refillable Black XL cartridge for 10$ rather that $35-$39. Once you have a full set of 100A chips , you are set, and if a black cartridge fails simply buy another 105 rechip it as before, and Waa Laa , you have beat Lexmark at their own game.
