The "out of the box" chip probably performs about the same with each company. If I remember correctly though, you can have JET burn a custom chip. But to get the full potential from it you'll need to know every aspect of your vehicle. Cam lift and timing, carb, tranny, rear gears, exhaust....etc. And of course it's more expensive for the custom chip.
There is no govenor there is a speed limiter in the onbord computer program and must be reprogrammed or removed with a chip such as a hypertech chip or superchips programmer.
The typical horsepower you will get from a performance chip is approximately 140 horsepower. However, it will vary from performance chip to performance chip.
Yes....try Hypertech or JET.
Several things can add horsepower to your truck. A free flow air filter, different exhaust, or computer chip change can all help get more horsepower.
The computer chip does all that for you ..
iam the best odf computer
Well it depends on what year and what model my 95 silverado 350 TBI makes 215 out of factory but put a performance chip for the computer,headers,235/235camshafts and now makes 267HP w/ 375ftlbs.
About the cheapest is to buy a chip that you have to attach to the computer.
The central processing unit in a computer is the main chip that "makes everything go." It gets input from programs to execute instructions and control electrical signals.
you can get a computer chip for it and install it and that resets all the engine functions such as timing etc.
You could look for Hypertech products, which are distributed by Autozone, Advance, and O'Reilly's.
The speed is controlled by the computer, on that model you can buy a new computer chip and install it to override the speed sensor and get more horsepower.
