it's a opinion. each console has it's pros and cons:
ps3
pros:
blu-ray player
free online
games that Xbox 360 doesn't have like God of War, gran turismo, infamous, etc.
rechargable controller
cons:
yellow light of death(although the chances of getting the ylod is slim)
psn is not as good as xbox live
doesn't have games that are exclusive on the xbox 360 like halo, gears of war, etc.
xbox 360:
pros:
has a better online experince
has games that ps3 doesn't have like Halo 3, gears of war, left 4 dead, etc.
cons:
red ring of death(althrough it is hard to get the rrod on the newer models)
if you move a xbox 360 elite while a game is in, the console will scratch the disc
you have to pay for online
uses a dvd player instead of a blu-ray player
controller uses batteries(but you can buy a rechargable battery pack)
doesn't have games like uncharted, twisted metal, little big planet, etc.
overall, it's your opinion. but i would get a ps3 because of the blu-ray play that also plays blu-ray movies and the shear library of ps3 exclusives.
