All nations have energy resources, even if it's just solar, which is a small and unreliable source as you near the poles and an expensive source everywhere else.
But some nations have more resources than others. Japan for example is very low in domestic energy resources and relies upon imported resources for most of its energy. There are small coral reef island nations with nothing but sun, wind and tide.
Some nations have reliable wind energy resources, either on-shore or off-shore.
Some have geothermal. Iceland is a good example.
Some have fossil fuel reserves of coal, gas and oil. The US for example has HUGE resources of fossil fuels.
Some have biomass energy resources such as trees or agricultural waste.
Some have nuclear resources of fissionable materials.
Some have potential for wave or tidal energy.
Some have hydroelectric resources of running rivers.
So there are NO nations with NO resources, just some with more than others.

import them
These two South American countries have sufficient energy resources to meet their needs.
Energy can be exported by transmitting it through power lines, pipelines, or shipping it in the form of liquefied natural gas or oil to other countries. Exporting energy is a way for countries with surplus energy resources to generate revenue and meet the energy needs of other countries.
yuuijkiopl,
The following European countries produce geothermal energy (2010):AustriaFranceGermanyIcelandItalyPortugalTurkey
Enourmous amounts of gas and oil. Here in Norway we have alot of water energy, Sweden has nuclear energy and Denmark relies on wind energy.
Brazil and Venezuela.
Middle Eastern countries, especially Saudi Arabia, are the U.S.'s main source of oil.
Yes, the US has a diverse range of natural resources including forests, minerals, fertile soil, and freshwater. It is one of the leading countries in agricultural production and has abundant energy resources such as oil, natural gas, and renewable energy sources.
It depends to the countries and what resources they have. Some alternatives to coal energy could be using oil, gas and even atomic energy in some cases.
That's because 1) we need energy, and 2) there are certain problems with conventional energy sources - including scarcity of the resources, and pollution.
