Of course nowadays there are a lot of people saying they do not believe in anything... but officialy all European countries are christian - with the exeption of Albania and Turkey (but Turkey has only a small European part - the rest isn't geographically a part of Europe) - and the regions of Aserbaijan and Bosnia.

Christians can be found in every country in Europe. However, with the exception of Vatican City, no country in Europe has an entirely Christian population; and thus cannot be said to follow Christianity.

It should be remembered that not all who profess a religion practise or even believe in it. That said, the Christian percentage of the population for several of the most prominent European countries is displayed below:

France - 85-90%

Germany - 68%

Italy - 90-99%

Spain - 94-99%

United Kingdom - 71.6%

By saying "actual", I assume you mean countries where Christianity is the state religion. There are 14 of those: Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Denmark, El Salvador, England, Greece, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Norway, and Vatican City.

Was church compulsory in the Middle Ages?

Church attendance was probably compulsory in some medieval countries, but clearly was not in many. The Middle Ages was a period in the history of Europe that lasted about 1000 years. During this time, the laws of countries changed a lot, and there were many countries. Not all countries in Europe were Christian, and from a practical point of view, many countries were tolerant of religions other than Christianity.
