America for the most part is dominated by two parties the Republicans and Democrats. Although other parties exist they never tend to win any high offices even independents are more successful than other parties.

There are quite a few nations that have only one political party. Or, if another party is allowed to exist, that party has virtually no power. The Peoples Republic of China has one party, the communist party. Should other "parties" be allowed, there is no question the the former one has all the influence.
