The best place to look for gold is where it has already been found. Most gold locations are very well known and the locations can be found in numerous books and on the internet.
Central California is well known as the central gold belt. Northern California as the northern gold belt, etc.
Colorado has had significant amounts of gold found as has South Dakota and Georgia.
Again, the best place to look for gold is where it has historically occurred.
You can also look on history.com. The reason why you should go on that sight is so you can learn about golds history.
