TRIBALISM is the main cultural tradition that leads to conflict in the Middle East. Middle Easterners tend to advocate for their particular ethnic, tribal, or religious grouping as opposed for the benefit of all people in their country or in the region. Tribalism also prevents compromise because it promotes the idea that the goal of the political process is for one party to get everything it wants, instead of the idea that every party should get enough of what it wants to be satisfied and to accept that as a valid resolution.
