"Yom Hakippurim" better known as "yom kippur" is the Jewish day of atonement, during which the Jews fast, from sunset to sunset (Leviticus 23), and have many other restrictions on that day. They then go to the synagogue to pray to God for forgiveness for all of their sins that they may have committed throughout the year.
All healthy adult Jewish people must fast on Yom Kippour. * Healthy: if the fast will be detrimental to your health you mustn't fast. Consult with a Doctor and LOR (Local Orthodox Rabbi) * Adult: Boys above Bar Mitzva (13) and girls above Bat Mitzva (12) must fast * Children may not fast unless they will become adults within the coming months.
