When you say column with command, you mean automatically adding a new column or autoadjusting a column? To add a column using a shortcut, you need to highlight a column/s first (short cut is Shift key + Space bar) then press your Ctrl and + Keys simultaneously. If you want to auto-adjust a column's width using a shortcut, you can use Alt + H O + I (texted with Excel 2007 version).
Press the Shift key and hold it and click the edge of the selected area and drag to the left, until you see a heavy line between the column to the left and the column left of that one. The column will be moved and be swapped with the column to its left when you let go. If you just want to move over to and empty column, you can drag over without pressing shift, or do a cut and paste.
Yes you can. Ctrl - 9 hides a row. Ctrl - 0 hides a column. Add the Shift key to those combinations and they can be unhidden.
Pressing the spacebar by itself does not do anything special in Excel, except enter a space. In conjunction with other keys, it does a lot more. Ctrl-Spacebar selects and column and Shift-Spacebar selects a row for example
Click on the row header or column header. Press Ctrl-Spacebar to select a column. Press Shift-Spacebar to select a row. If you have cells in more than one column or row selected when you do either of these it will select all of the columns or rows that have selected cells. If you go to the first cell in a completely blank row and press Ctrl-Shift right arrow, it will select the entire row. If you go to the first cell in a completely blank column and press Ctrl-Shift down arrow, it will select the entire column. If there is some data in any cells in the row/column or if you are not in the first cell when you do it, these commands will select part of the row/column only, depending on where data is.
Clicking on the header of the row or column will select it. So for example, to select row 3, click on the 3 at the start of it or to select column R, click on the R at the top of it. Pressing Ctrl and the spacebar will select the current column. Shift and spacebar will select the current row.
Select the entire document and press the Delete key. You can select the document by pressing Ctrl- A, or by pressing Ctrl and Shift and the spacebar. You can also click on button that is above the row heading for row 1 and to left of the column heading for column A.
