If an element with 2 protons, 1 electron, and 1 neutron did exist, it would be called a positive ion of helium-3, but the element doesn't exist since helium is not an element that can lose electrons.

Deuterium is an isotope of hydrogen. Hydrogen also has an isotope called tritium with 2 neutrons. "Normal" hydrogen has no neutrons.

What element has 2 electrons 3 protons and 4 neutrons?

There is no such element: an element is neutral, so it has equal numbers of protons and electrons.Impossible:2 protons 4 neutrons and 3 electrons is the IMpossible He-1 isotope with mass number 6 (=2p+4n). Helium does not accept electrons because it is noble.Possible:2 protons 4 neutrons and 2 electrons is (elemental) Helium, isotope with mass number 6 (=2p+4n)3 protons 4 neutrons and 3 electrons is (elemental) Lithium

How many electrons neutrons and protons does it take to make a neturaly charged atom?

When an element is in its neutral state the number of protons always equal number of electrons. For heavier elements like uranium, to get number of neutrons subtract number of protons from the atomic number. Equal protons and electrons = stable element.

Are Atoms of one element are different from atoms of other elements?

Yes. Atoms are unique to whichever element they compose. They have different amounts of electrons, protons and (neutrons). For Example: Hydrogen Atom: 1 electron, 1 proton. Oxygen Atom: 8 electrons, 8 protons, 8 neutrons.

what element has 21 protons 21 electrons and 24 neutrons?

chromium

What causes atoms of the same elements to have different atomic masses?

Elements have a certain number of protons(+), neutrons(0) and electrons(-). The atomic number shows the number of protons and electrons in the element (has to have the same number of each to stay stable). The atomic mass shows the number of neutrons. For example, Hydrogen has an atomic mass of ~1.01 (and an atomic number of 1). That means that it has 1 electron and 1 proton but no neutron (1 proton+0 neutrons=1). Helium has an atomic mass of ~4.00 (and an atomic number of 2). That means that it has 2 electrons, 2 protons and 2 neutrons (2 protons+2 neutrons=4). Hope you can understand. :S

1) it's spelt Calcium and 2) 20 protons, 20 electrons, 20 neutrons

How are the number of protons in an element determined?

Well... the element number defines the number of protons, and usually the electrons. the neutrons are determined with... i dunno :P I.E. hydrogen is 1. Therefor, in hydrogen there are 1 protons and 1 electrons.

How many protons neutrons and electrons does an element have?

An element must always have the same number of protons as it's atomic number. The number of electrons may vary, making an atom into an ion, and the number of neutrons can also vary which is why we have different isotopes of the same element.

Is there more than one atom used in element?

No, an element is 1 atom with a certain number of protons, neutrons, and electrons.

What is the protons neutrons and electrons of helium?

The number of protons in an element is always the same as the atomic number, which is 2 in the case of helium. (The atomic number is assigned based on the number of protons in an element.) In a neutral atom (one with no charge), the number of electrons equals the number of protons, so it will be 2 electrons also. However, the number of neutrons will vary depending on the isotope (atoms of the same element with different numbers of neutrons). There are two stable isotopes of Helium, 3He and 4He, having 1 neutron and 2 neutrons respectively. Most helium is helium-4, and helium-3 is found as only about one atom in a million.See link below for more information on Helium, as well as the related question below that will show you how to find the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in any atom.
