The third estate, made up of peasants, artisans and workers, which was 97% of the population, were those who benefited from the French Revolution. In particular the Bourgeoisie, a section of the third estate who were relatively wealthy, such as bankers, lawyers, doctors and other similar professions, benefited the most from the French Revolution because the Revolution put them in power. The first and the second estates, meaning the clergy and nobility, were the groups that lost the most from the French Revolution. They would not recover their pre-Revolution position until the Congress of Vienna of 1815 reinstated the French monarchy.
The First Estate.
Since the Third Estate took up 97% and the Second Estate 2%, the First Estate would be about 1% of the population.
While the actual lyrical work is highly dependent on the individual, a good starting point would be to recognize the role of the third estate in French history. Essentially, the nobles and clergy formed the first and second estate, while the working poor, ie. the vast majority of France, was the third estate. A poem about the French Revolution should take into consideration the fact that the first and second estate were essentially helpless because of how little practical value they held. After the third estate eventually realized that they did all the work without seeing any of the return, they revolted.
That would be General Baron Von Steuben.

Reading about how earlier historians wrote about the French Revolution
Basically the 3rd state were supporters of the french revolution, they made up 98% of the population. The 1st and 2nd estate were the King and clergy. They all lived luxury lifestyles and didn't pay taxes. They didn't try to help the 3rd estate who were in so much debt of paying taxes. When they were making decisions, the 1st and 2nd estate always outvoted the third estate. As a result, taxes were increased! This is why the 3rd estate wanted to become a republic, where decisions of the 3rd estate would stand out more and they could have more of a say in various issues like taxes.

Almost certainly. The French Revolution truly stemmed from the mass injustices between the three Estates of France and the equality to be found in the recent American Democracy. Marie Antoinette certainly made some of those injustices more obvious and made some statements that belied how unaware the first and second estate were of the third estate's problems, but she was not the cause of these problems.
The American War of independence was important to the French Revolution because the Americans would not have won without the help of the French.
The french revolution started on Bastille Day, July 14, 1789
