The Igbo tried to secede from Nigeria in the 1960s.
The ethnic group that wanted to create their own countrywere the Ibos.
Many people have not heard of the Yoruba people. However, they are an ethnic group located on the continent of Africa on the West side, but found predominantly in Nigeria.
The Hausa-Fulani ethnic group live in the Northern region of Nigeria. The Yoruba and igbo ethnic groups live in the Southern region. With the Yoruba's living in the Western region and the Igbo's living in the Eastern. As there has been the creation of many new states, each ethnic group can be relatively found anywhere, but for generalization purposes, the Hausa-Fulani group live in the Northern region.
We all are to some degree. More so I think in how the group we are raised in views the ethnic group we come from. How a group is portrayed in the media is also going to effect how we see ourselves. Being from any given ethnic group does not in and of itself make us do or become something.
When boundaries separate an ethnic group it always causes problems.
