The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) is not affiliated with any commerical food store or food company.

The Church does produce and distribute food, but this is as a charitable "food pantry" type organization called the Bishop's Storehouse- the products are not available to be purchased. The Church does produce and sell food products in bulkdirectly from it's distribution facilities to promote long-term home food storage. The products include wheat, flour, sugar, rice, powdered milk, pasta, beans, and dehydrated or freeze-driedfruits and vegetables. These products are NOT available in any store and can only be purchased by ordering from a Church-owned distribution facility.

The only commercial chain store owned by the Mormon Church is Deseret Book - a religious book and gift store. They also own a non-profit thrift store chain, Deseret Industries.

Aside from the fact that Mormons shop at Walgreens, no. Contrary to popular belief, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) is NOT connected to a large number of multi-national corporations. (actually, it's not connected to any...) Their only corporate connections are with a few companies in the western United States. These are: Deseret Book (a religious book and gift store) Bonneville International (a newsmedia outlet) Temple Square Hospitality (cafes and reception centers in Salt Lake City) Deseret Management (manages a handful of apartments and office buildings in Salt Lake City) Beneficial Life Insurance

No. MinuteMaid is owned by the CocaCola company. The CocaCola company is publicly traded and owned by stockholders, and has never been affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church). Why did the church of the latter day saints store food and start a grocery store?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) produces and stores food to help the needy and to serve as first responders in natural disasters and other emergencies. Church-produced food is also sometimes used by church facilities (such as cafeterias at church-owned schools or temples) where it is sold at cost. Certain items can also be purchased by the public at cost as emergency food storage (freeze dried foods, wheat, etc) Food surplus is often donated to community assistance programs. The Church has never owned a grocery store. They do operate "Bishop Storehouses", which operate much like a food pantry. They look like a typical grocery store, but there are no cash registers. Needy people who have been referred by a Mormon Bishop may visit the storehouse and do their grocery shopping free of charge. They are usually expected to provide some volunteer service in exchange for assistance.

Does the Mormon church financial support the sister wives?

Most definitely not. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) banned polygamy over 100 years ago. The Church does not provide financial support to any sister-wife. The Church will provide in-kind help (food, clothing, emergency supplies, job training, etc) to people outside of their faith who apply for assistance. If you are speaking of the Sister Wives tv show, no. The Browns of the tv show are not members of the Mormon Church. Both Kody and Janelle left the Mormon Church to join the Apostolic United Brethren. Their church may provide financial support, but the Mormon church does not.

Do Mormon businesses support the Mormon community?

Businesses owned by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) financially support the owners and their families. Most Mormons choose to pay a tithe to the Church, which is 10% of their income. In that way, some profits of Mormon-owned businesses support the Church. Many Mormons own business that cater to the Mormon culture and community. These include things like modest clothing shops, food-storage and emergency prepardeness supplies, and religious books and music with Mormon themes. Check out the "related links" below for examples of Mormon-owned businesses that cater to the Mormon community. The Mormon Church itself doesn't really own any for-profit businesses, except for a few restaurants in Salt Lake City and a local newsmedia outlet.
