Well, it depends on the type of tree and the disease but in general, a forest with many types of trees probably has a better survival rate as diseases can affect certain types of trees differently. So if you had a disease that could kill one type of tree and a forest made only of that type, all the trees would die.

A small area of trees can be called a grove, copse, woodlot, orchard, plantation, spinney, stand or thicket.
There is a bit of "transition" between areas of permafrost and the coniferous forests, but yes, a few trees will grow over permafrost. These trees will grow if there is sufficient "relief" in the form of seasonal thawing. That thawing allows soil of sufficient depth to unfreeze and support a larger plant like a tree. Trees would need a little longer period of thawing and enough of the soil to thaw so they can survive than, say, bushes, shrubs or flowering plants like those of the tundra.
We are seeing the same problem with ash trees. When you plant one variety of trees in rows along a street, it is very easy for a disease or insect to kill them. It is far better to have a variety of tree species.

Many organisms that lived in the forest will not survive! By: Annette(:
They try to survive by trying to get as much sunlight and water as possible

Trees bark thickens to protect them from cold of winter
It reduces moisture loss in the cold dry winter air.

Epiphytes survive in the forest canopy by attaching to large trees, usually in the crooks of branches where water can collect.
Most oak trees to but its rare that they do not survive but sometimes it depends on how bad the fire is.

If a disease between trees happend only the same species of trees not the whole forest
