Unanswered questions with The first thing you need to do is look at the fader control on the radio or CD player. The fader moves the sound to the front, or the back, or balanced between the two. This is a common reason why there would be sound from the front speakers but not the back. If that's not it, you're looking at electrical issues, so check a) that the rear speakers are there b) that the speaker wire has not been disconnected (is hanging loose off the terminals) If still no luck, it's probably beyond your ability to fix, so drop by a car stereo shop and ask them. Good luck.

The front speakers should be 6.5" and the rear should be 6x9". You will want to make sure you have the correct ohm speakers though. My 2004 impala has 2ohm speakers and my friends has 4ohm speakers. You can put 4 ohm speakers in a 2 ohm system but your sound quality will suffer greatly. Do not put 2 ohm speakers in a 4 ohm system though, that will cause bigger problems.
