Rydell High School
Rydell is the name of the fictional school in "Grease", but there were actually three schools in California used for the interior and exterior shots throughout the movie. The art deco front of Rydell High seen in the beginning of the movie is actually the front of Venice High School in Venice California. (It may look very familiar as it was also used as the exterior front of the school in not only "Grease", but the movie "American History X"). The Track and field and football field (as well as bleachers) were used from Marshall High School in Silverlake (a section of Los Angeles). The football field was also used for the famous "You're The One That I Love" song/dance sequence at the end of year carnival as well. The halls, classrooms, office, principals office, outside lunch area, and the gym used in the dance contest sequence were filmed at Huntington Park High School in Huntington Park, California. (These areas may also look very familiar as some of these same areas and other parts of the school were used in "Grease" as well as "A Nightmare On Elm Street" and "Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Movie".)
The Rangers
Eve Arden remembered as Our Miss Brooks was the Principal of Rydell High in the films Grease (1978) and Grease 2 (1982).
The principal gives the following speech over the intercom: Attention seniors. Before the merriment of commencement commences, I hope that your years with us here at Rydell have prepared you for the challenges you face. Who knows? Among you there may be a future Eleanor Roosevelt or a Rosemary Clooney, and among you young men, there may be a Joe DiMaggio, a President Eisenhower, or even a Vice-President Nixon. But you will always the glorious memories of Rydell High. Rydell forever. Bon voyage.

I cant believe I can answer this one, but the school the used to film Grease is in Norwalk that's in LA County. They only really used the front of the school and the field. The rest was actually done in a studio.
