What is yeoman Herbert Quale's role in the musical South Pacific?

I played this part once. In the beginning of the show when Bloody Mary is trying to hawk her goods to the men Quale says, "That's some fine merchandise" or something like that. In another scene he enters the commanders office with a package ready to for the commander to send. He reads off the address. (Quale is like the secretary to the commander). At the very end Quale is yelling out directions to the various units departing the base. Quale is a lot like Radar O'Reilly in M.A.S.H.

Summary of A Fishy Story by jerome k jerome?

Note this article contains spoilers. Please do not continue to read if you would like a good laugh after reading this story.

A Fishy Story is actually an entertaining piece that is meant to show how locals think they can take advantage of the visitors' ignorance. The story starts off with two characters, the narrator and his friend, George, entering a parlor to relax. Their co-occupant was an old man. George and the narrator then notice a very large trout, so large that the narrator thinks it is a cod. The old man tells them that he was the one who caught it, 16 years ago. Then the man leaves after describing how he caught the fish. He then bids them good night. Then the local carrier walks in, claiming that he was the one who caught the same fish, FIVE years ago. Now the narrator and George are very surprised. He tells them the story, and leaves. Five minutes later, a third man comes in and tells them that he caught the fish, and leaves. Finally, a middle-aged man walks in somberly, and sits down. George then tries something, and asks the stranger if he could tell them how he caught the huge trout. The stranger is surprised, and gladly tells them the story. He also leaves. The landlord then comes in. Now, the narrator and George tell him all the various funny histories that they have learnt, and ask him who actually caught the fish. He tells them that he did, and then leaves. George, giving in to his curiosity, climbs up to get a closer look. He slips, and knocks the case to the ground. George gets up and sees that the fish has shattered into a "thousand" pieces. It was made of PoP!

What is Dorothy's last name in 'The Wizard of Oz'?

Gale is the last name that Dorothy has in both the original 1900 book edition and the beloved 1939 film version of "The Wizard of Oz."

Specifically, Dorothy is presented as an orphan girl being raised by her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em. Dorothy's adoptive or foster parents are given no last name. There also is no explanation as to whether the elderly couple really is related to Dorothy and if so, in what way and on which side of the family.

But later on in the Royal Histories of Oz series, author and series originator Lyman Frank Baum (May 15, 1856 - May 6, 1919) has Uncle Henry speak of the strong resemblance between Dorothy and her mother. This may favor an interpretation of Uncle Henry as being the brother of Dorothy's mother.

How did Captain Von Trapp become a baron?

Nobility can be inherited or earned. Georg Ludwig Trapp served in World War I as a U-boat commander. His exploits on the battle earned him his Austrian nobility. It also helped that he married a very rich heiress, Agatha Whitehead. Together they had 7 children before his wife died. It was in 1926 that he hired a tutor for one of his sick daughters, Maria Kutschera, whom he married in 1927 and had 3 more children. So, the movie isn't exactly true to the actual events as many years passed before they left Austria in 1938. Georg Ritter von Trapp lost most of his fortunes when the banks of Austria collapsed.

If his name is Georg Ritter von Trapp, then he is not a Baron, but a knight; i.e. the second lowest rank of nobility, which are Lower nobility:

von... nobel Ritter von.... Knight Freiherr von... Baron (Baron as a title does not exist in original German nomenclature, even the famous "Red Baron" was not a Baron, but a Freiherr) Higher nobility: Graf von... Count Herzog von... Duke Royal Houses Imperial Houses

How old is Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz?

No information is given as to Dorothy Gale's age in "The Wizard of Oz."

Specifically, author and Oz series originator Lyman Frank Baum (May 15, 1865 -May 6, 1919) gives no specific information in terms of the ages of any of his characters. According to the illustrations, Dorothy appears to be a poised young girl under ten (10). According to the beloved 1939 movie version of the original 1900 book edition, Dorothy may be eleven or twelve (11-12) years old.

In L. Frank Baum's book Dorothy is supposed to be nine years old. But the actress playing the role (Judy Garland) was actually a teenager made to look younger.
