Applications and uses of pelton wheel turbine?

Pelton wheel could be used to lift water from a lower source (lake or something) to pour into a high place. Another use, it could be used to dig into the earth, the wheel have the shape of a milling cutter, it can open channels in the ground or something. It could also be used to measure the speed of a fluid, if connected to a dynamo meter, the speed of flow could be read via voltage. These are some applications. BY: FAISAL RAFIQUE

What is a Francis turbine?

The Francis turbine is an inward flow turbine that is the most efficient and widely used water turbine in the world today. It works best in higher head (pressure) applications, and hydroelectric power plants at big dams use these guys to make lots of watt-hours. The term "inward flow" means that the turbine itself (the thing with the blades that the water "presses on" to make the thing turn) has the water directed from the outside of the turbine wheel in onto the blades, and through them to a "center area" for the water to exit. The unit is darn efficient. Pictures are a mouse click away. Use the link to surf on over to our friends at Wikipedia (from which some of the data here was gathered) for more information and the cool pics that really show a viewer how the unit works.

What is the differences between pelton turbine and kaplan turbine?

pelton turbines are suited to high head, low flow application but kaplan turbine are used for low head and a large amount of discharge needed. kaplan turbines are expensive to design, manufacture and install as compared to pelton turbine but operate for decades.

What is difference between pelton wheel and turgo turbine?

pelton turbine is used for high head low flow but the turgo turbine is used for low head high flow, in pelton turbine number of jet can increased but in turgo it can't be done, in pelton the water hits the bucket once at a time but in tugo it hits more than one
