There is no answer to this question because there is no value placed on "Best" within the question. Opinion will always be a part of the answer. If performance is "Best" then you can look at the numbers from any car magazines test completed on vehicles, and then choose the car(s) that are fastest. However, what if you are looking at combination of factors such as speed, reliability, durability, handling, braking, crash protection, rollover, cargo space, seating capacity (etc) then the answer changes. If reliability is best, then you can look into which vehicles last the longest and have least repairs (probably Honda/Toyota and derivatives). Also, cost is an important factor. You may want to note that Ferrari's are great, but they are true nightmares to fix and require lots of maintenance. So, what is best? A inexpensive car that will take you hundreds of thousands of miles, and require little expense (relatively speaking). It may be somewhat uncomfortable, a little noisy. Or would you prefer fast rocket that looks good, handles well, eats gas, and is expensive to repair? Maybe a family car to transport kids and get supplies at Home Depot? See how one car can not do all? You need to place a value on your question to get the results. So, look at it this way, here are some good reliable manufacturers, then decide which model you like. Honda, Toyota, Acura, Lexus, Porche, Mercedes, BMW (expensive those German cars), and some American Cars which are getting better. I like one's with V8 and rear-drive, but they still don't have the reliability of some Japanese cars. OK, to answer your question. I like Honda and Toyota the best for reliability, and Porche for performance and reliability. Enough Said.
