Both are excellent and run by the same organization. The zoo is closer to downtown San Diego and features the animals in a more compact, though still quite spacious setting. The Wild Animal Park is located about 30 minutes north of downtown in a rural setting with more open spaces for the animals to roam in mini herds. These can be viewed by riding the park's tram. The Wild Animal Park also gets quite toasty between July and October, so bring lots of water!
San Diego's Wild Animal Park is operated by the San Diego Zoo.
The nearest Animal World in San Diego is San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The Safari Park is located 30 miles (48km) north of downtown San DIego in the San Pasqual Valley, California.
SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, Wild Animal Park, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Old Town, and La Jolla are my favorites!
