Hello, the Cognos SDK is expected to be fully functional with either a .NET or Java interface. You may find an easier time implementing your solution with a Java solution only because the majority of the examples provided by Cognos are in Java. However, you can also use SOAP calls to invoke your Cognos application and won't have to worry about adding .DLLs. http://bicentresdkguide.blogspot.com
"Kinds of technical report?"technical report is full documentation. Its no kinds.
How you would write a report on what holds two boards together better a nail or screw is the First you make notes on your topics of what your writing about . Then you get all the measurement of your screw and nail and you could write about the similarity's between a screw and a nail
If you have the IM open, you can click "report IM spam" which will then give you the option to report the IM and give a reason. If it's an emailed threat, there is a button on the side to "Report Spam" which will give you the same options.

Cognos ReportNet is previous version of Cognos 8. Both versions have report studio tool and that is zero footprint and can be launched from Cognos Portal (Cognos connection). The Cognos caption typically refers to the header or title of a report or dashboard created using IBM Cognos software. It provides a brief description or summary of the content that follows in the report or dashboard. The caption helps users understand the purpose or context of the information presented.
Dashboard can be created in Cognos Connection by adding the NEW PAGE and the reports or Folder. if Detail information required then mail me @ sushanth52@gmail.com You can also use Report Studio to create a more advanced Dashboard but it takes longer. Cognos connection is faster but it is limited.

In Cognos 8.3 and only in Report studio you are able to validate/test a report before execution by clicking on th validate icon in the tool bar. Validate may also be found under the tools menu in Report Studio. ---- If you want a deeper level of testing, which can be setup in an automated way, I'd suggest taking a look at the MotioCI tool, which supports automated regression testing of Cognos BI Content. http://www.motio.com/products/ci/overview.do Using MotioCI you can setup automated test cases which will go off an verify your reports at the desired intervals. These tests can verify things like report performance, expected output, common look and feel rules, etc. ---- A third option would also be MotioPI, which is a freeware Cognos utility. It will allow you perform basic validation. MotioPI is no where near advanced as MotioCI but it does make validating many reports at once much easier than using Report Studio.
